For the librarian

The library desk

A focused login for the library and nothing else: the catalogue, the circulation register, and a clear list of what is overdue and who has it.

Signing in. Your admin or principal creates your login from Settings → Team and logins. You sign in with your school email and a password you set on the first sign-in, and you land straight on the Library.

This is the narrowest login in Bellmeir, and that is the point: three things, all of them yours.

  • Library, the catalogue and circulation. This is your home screen
  • Students, look a borrower up by name or roll number
  • My HR, your own leave, notices and payslips

The catalogue

  • Add a book with title, author, and the shelf or section it lives on
  • Record how many copies you hold, so availability is a fact rather than a memory
  • Search by title, author or accession, which is how somebody at the counter actually asks
  • Correct a record in place. A misspelt author is fixed, not deleted and retyped, so the issue history attached to the book survives

Issue and return

Issue

Find the book, find the borrower, set the due date. Books go to students and to staff, so a teacher borrowing for a lesson is on the same register as a child.

Return

Check it back in against the same issue line, so the loan closes where it opened. Availability updates immediately.

Chase the overdues

The overdue list shows what is out past its date and who has it, with the class and section, so a gentle reminder can go to the right room rather than to the whole school.

What you deliberately cannot see

Attendance, marks, fees and staff records are not on your sidebar. You can look a student up to know who is borrowing, which is the only thing the library needs from the student record.

Your own record

My HR is yours: apply for leave, file a running-late notice, and read your own payslips. A librarian is an employee on the school register, with a payslip and a leave balance, not just a login.
