For teachers

The Teacher app

Your whole teaching day, in your pocket. The Teacher app is built for speed, most of what you do takes a tap or two, even between periods.

You also have a web portal. The same email and password open Bellmeir in any browser, where marks entry, grading submitted assignments, lesson plans and reports are far easier on a keyboard. See the teacher web portal, or which job belongs on which screen.
Signing in: open the Bellmeir Teacher app, enter the email your school registered, and the password you set on first login. Forgot it? Ask your admin to reset it.

Your home screen

Home is your day at a glance, with a warm greeting and today's date.

  • "Right now" card, your current period (subject, class, room) with a one-tap Mark topics button
  • Morning attendance card, shown only if you're a class teacher: a prompt to mark your own class, which clears once it's done for the day
  • "Next up", a peek at your following period
  • Today's list, every period, with done ones checked off and breaks marked

Taking attendance (class teachers)

Attendance in Bellmeir is taken once each morning, by the class teacher. If you're the class teacher of a section, you mark your own class; teachers who aren't class teachers don't mark attendance at all, their students are covered by each class's own teacher.

Open your class

Tap the morning attendance card on your home screen (or the Attendance tab). You'll only ever see the class you're class teacher of.

Mark present quickly

Tap a student's card to mark them present, it flips to mint with a check. Or hit Mark all present and just change the few who are absent.

Mark absent, late or excused

Long-press a student for more options, or swipe a card left/right for absent/present. A live count shows "28 / 40".

Save

When everyone's marked, the save button activates. Saving plays a little celebration and returns you home. That's attendance done for the day.

Not a class teacher? You won't see an attendance screen, and that's by design. The principal assigns each section its class teacher, and only that teacher marks the class's daily attendance.
Attendance is not van boarding. Marking a student present in class is completely separate from whether they boarded the school van, the two never affect each other.

Entering marks

When an exam is set up by your admin, mark entry is fast and forgiving.

  • The header shows exam, subject, class and max marks
  • Type each student's score; the numeric keypad opens automatically and Enter advances to the next
  • A grade chip appears automatically from your school's grade scheme
  • Out-of-range scores are caught gently ("Maximum is 100")
  • Finish entering and save, report cards build from these marks

Topic diary & syllabus

Keep your syllabus coverage honest and visible.

  • Open the chapter → topic tree for your subject and class
  • Tap an uncovered topic to mark it taught (tap again to undo)
  • Add an optional note for context
  • A coverage pill shows your progress, e.g. "2 / 5 (40%)"

Homework & class diary

If you're a class teacher, the Class Diary lets you publish to parents.

  • Add homework as structured items, subject, task and due date, visible to parents instantly
  • Post internal notes and pinned notes (e.g. for PTMs)
  • Students can submit assignments from their app; you grade and return them

Working offline

Patchy network in the classroom? No problem.

  • Attendance and marks save to your device immediately, even offline
  • A small "pending sync" badge shows what's waiting
  • Everything syncs automatically the moment you're back online

Handy tips

  • Use Mark all present as your starting point, it's usually the fastest path
  • Swipe gestures are quicker than tapping once you get the hang of them
  • Mark topics right after class while it's fresh
